Natural gas prices:

After a long period of rapid price declines the North American price trend has abruptly reversed. Since our governments have not undertaken to implement any significant measures that would protect us from the future costs of using fossil fuels the potential for using alternatives like AE depend almost completely on their capacity to compete based solely on short term considerations. If the current price trend continues for a few more months systems that use heat storage will be highly competitive, even for organizations that do not look ahead.

The price trend will eventually become largely irrelevant. Both the previous downward trend and the current upward trend reflect the switch to shale gas that is underway. Over a long period of time the methane seepage from shale gas wells will require that they be shut down. Many jurisdictions already ban them.
